OVERVIEW

The Federal Super Steel 657 is a touring, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs.

The tire provides first-rate all weather traction. The all season compound and the special tread pattern work together to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. They maintain road contact in all conditions to ensure a safer driving experience year round. The safety is further increased by the hydroplaning resistance of the wide circumferential grooves that effectively disperse water and slush from beneath the tire’s footprint.

The special optimized tread design creates a variable pattern that guarantees a comfortable drive. The variable tread blocks decrease the road noise heard while the tires are in motion by constantly creating a special sound frequency. The sound frequency cancels the road noise out the moment it’s generated, preventing the sound from reaching the vehicle’s cabin. This results in a quiet and enjoyable driving experience as the passengers’ comfort is not disturbed by the pattern noise.

The constant road contact of the shoulder tread block sequences increases the tire’s controllability. The tire’s excellent road contact improves the driving stability and the steering responsiveness greatly. The tire is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting it, while the steering becomes quick and precise in its response to the driver’s commands. As a result, the driver can confidently control the vehicle in all weather.

The better road contact of the optimized tread elements also extends the tread life. It evenly distributes the driving pressure along the tread area, preventing irregular wear patterns from forming across the tread. This is further enhanced with the special durable tire compound that is wear resistant, in other words it slows the tread wear rate down, and the tire is usable for an extended period of time.

The Super Steel 657 is also fuel efficient. The tread design’s equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking lowers the pressure affecting the tire. In this manner, the model’s rolling resistance is decreased which, in turn, reduces the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The rolling resistance is the force affecting the tire that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to maintain the tires in motion. The decreased rolling resistance guarantees a fuel efficient and environmentally friendly tire.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
