For best accuracy, ensure the ball flight passes within the optimal measurement zone, approximately 20–50 ft from the radar, or position the radar about 45° beside the batter when measuring swing motion. This range provides the most stable, precise, and repeatable readings when the motion passes directly through the radar’s detection area. Placement is critical for precise readings. During solo pitching drills, position the radar behind the pitching net, facing the ball’s direction of travel. In pitching drills with a catcher, place it in front of the pitcher, aligned with the throwing path. For hitting drills, set it at about 45 degrees to the side of the batter, aimed toward the swing direction.
