Every 16 inches, a cotton threading will be pierced totally through all layers pulled and hand tied with a hard knot. This method of quilting is used when machine or handwuilting of a pattern would diminish or clash with the overall patterning or design aesthetic. The shams (available seperately) are knife edged and have the same abstract patterning as the quilt.
