OVERVIEW
The Continental ProContact GX SSR (MOExtended) is a touring all season tire model made for passenger vehicles. It is the original equipment run flat tire of select Mercedes-Benz vehicles, as noted by the ‘MO’ marking. This model is EV-Ready, meaning these tires are compatible with both electric and traditional vehicles.
The tire is a run flat model. It was manufactured with Continental’s Self Supporting Run Flat technology or SSR. Its reinforced structure maintains the weight of the vehicle and the passengers after air pressure leaves the tire. This allows the tire to be driven on for 50 miles up to the speed of 50 mph, which enables the driver to safely arrive at a nearby location to fix or change the tire. These tires cannot be used on the same vehicle with non-run flat models.
The tire offers first-rate all weather traction and it grips the road well in all weather conditions. This is due to the special tread pattern that provides great road grip in dry, wet, and winter weather. The circumferential tread grooves help resist hydroplaning by evacuating water from below the tire footprint. The better all weather traction increases the tire’s safety all year.
The tire offers a quiet and comfortable driving experience. The tread pattern and the compound below the tread lower the road noise and vibrations felt in the cabin of the vehicle. The tire compound absorbs the shock of driving and follows the road closely to cancel out the road vibrations. The optimized variable pitch design of the tread cancels out the road and pattern noise while the tires are in transit. The lowered noise and vibration levels make the driving experience more enjoyable.
The silica-infused tire compound lowers the rolling resistance as it lessens the overall weight of the tire. This reduces the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, making the tire cost and fuel efficient. The vehicle uses less energy to keep the tires in motion, which offers an environmentally friendly drive.
The ProContact GX SSR (MOExtended) is effortless to control. The larger tire footprint and the tread pattern increase the steering responsiveness and accuracy. The tire is quick and precise in its response to the driver’s instructions, allowing them to confidently control the tire in differing conditions.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
