OVERVIEW

The Michelin Latitude Sport 3 (T0) is a performance and high performance, summer tire manufactured for passenger and SUVs. This model is the original equipment tire of select Tesla vehicles.

The tire promotes exceptional summer weather traction. The model’s dry and wet weather road gripping ability is boosted with the asymmetric tread design and special silica compound. The tread compound and design firmly grip the road surface and ensure excellent performance. The wide circumferential grooves actively channel water away from the tire’s footprint. This improves the wet weather traction and avoids hydroplaning by maintaining constant road contact.

The asymmetric tread design also manages to improve the controllability. The continuous ribs and the large tread blocks maintain constant road contact, upgrading the steering responsiveness, driving stability and cornering capability. The shoulder blocks enhance the steering response time and accuracy to the driver’s instructions and they provide additional biting edges for a more secure cornering and maneuvering ability and power. The tread design’s variable thickness siping detail enhances the braking capability. They create friction at the moment of braking, efficiently shortening the braking distance and promoting a safer driving experience.

The variable thickness siping detail also reduces the rolling resistance. The rolling resistance is the external power affecting the tires that determines how much energy the vehicle needs to maintain the tire’s motion. The reduced rolling resistance manages to lower the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This guarantees excellent performance in all summer weather road conditions and makes the model more fuel efficient and environmentally friendly.

The Latitude Sport 3 (T0) has remarkable high speed durability. The tire’s internal structure features reinforced twin steel belts and a 2-ply casing that work together to prevent the tire from deforming under the high speed driving pressure. The maintained optimal tire shape enables the tire to perform to its best capability with ease.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
