OVERVIEW

The Starfire Solarus AS is a touring all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. Starfire offers a 50,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The tire promotes great all weather traction and road gripping ability. The special all season tire compound and the symmetric mirrored tread design work together to increase the dry, wet and winter weather road grip. The compound manages to maintain its flexibility throughout the year, including in winter weather conditions, while the tread design’s elements find firm grip on the road surface. The tread’s wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. The enhanced hydroplaning resistance and exceptional all weather traction guarantee a safer year round performance.

The model also provides a quiet and comfortable drive. The tread pattern features a closed shoulder design that prevents road noise from forming while the tires are in motion. The closed shoulders prevent airwaves from entering the tire’s footprint and coming into contact with the tread elements. In this manner, the road and tread pattern noise cannot generate and cannot reach the vehicle’s cabin. The model’s flat footprint enables the tire to closely follow the road surface, which absorbs the shock of driving. As a result, the road vibrations are not felt during the drive by the passengers. The decreased road noise and vibration levels offers an enjoyable driving experience.

The tire guarantees a longer lasting tread life. The flat footprint’s constant road contact evenly distributes the driving pressure along the tire’s surface. This equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking lengthen the tread life and the tire’s usability by preventing irregular tread wear formations across the entire tread area. The Solarus AS is easily controlled. The tread design keeps the tire’s road contact at all times, which improves the steering responsiveness and driving stability. In other words, the better road contact upgrades the steering accuracy and response time to the driver’s commands, while it stabilizes the tire against the driving pressure affecting it during the drive. This allows the driver to confidently control the vehicle in all weather conditions.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
