OVERVIEW

The Starfire WR is a high performance, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles. Starfire offers a 40,000 mile treadwear warranty with this model.

The tire promotes great all weather traction and road gripping ability. The asymmetric tread design and the all season tire compound boost the dry, wet and winter weather road gripping ability. The asymmetric design’s tread elements firmly grip the road surface throughout the year, while the tire compound keeps its flexible traction in all weather, including in winter temperatures. The tread design’s wide circumferential grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from below the tire’s footprint. The better all weather traction and hydroplaning resistance ensure a secure year round driving experience.

The model boosts its controllability by guaranteeing constant road contact. The optimal tire footprint increases the road-to-tire ratio and the tread’s continuous center rib maintains the tire’s road contact at all times. The larger contact area and constant road contact work together to improve the steering responsiveness and driving stability even at high speeds. The steering response time and accuracy are enhanced, while the tire’s structure is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting the model. The tread’s shoulder tread blocks, with the siping detail, manage to upgrade the braking capability. They create friction at the moment of braking, effectively shortening the braking distance and providing a safer performance.

The tire was designed with a variable pitch sequence. This variable pitch sequence decreases the road noise levels heard in the vehicle’s cabin while the tires are in motion. This is achieved by creating a sound frequency that is capable of negating the road and tread pattern noise generated during the drive. The reduced road and tread pattern noise heard by the passengers ensures a quiet and comfortable driving experience in all conditions.

The WR offers a lengthened tread life. The asymmetric tread pattern was designed with a larger, optimal road contact area that keeps the tire’s road contact constantly. In this manner, the tire is able to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area. The equally spread out forces of acceleration, cornering and braking prevents uneven tread wear formations, which extends the tread life and the tire’s usability significantly, making the model more cost-efficient.

Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
